• Living lactose-free is hard, but it doesn’t have to be bland.

This website was born out of frustration.

The Frustration of endlessly searching for lactose-free recipes, then forgetting to bookmark them and losing them forever. The frustration that there doesn’t seem to be a one-stop-shop to go that for lactose-free recipes. And finally, the frustration that cooking website don’t seem to understand that lactose-free is not the same as vegan or dairy-free.

Let me say that again

Lactose-free is not the same as dairy-free. Lactose-free is not the same as vegan. Lactose-free means cooking with ingredients that don’t have lactose.

Well, here is your frustration-free spot for your lactose-free kitchen.

AKA: The only bookmark you need for yummy lactose-free recipes.

*Please be patient as I add new recipes. I am doing this for fun and it takes time. I am adding more stuff everyday.

What you need to know about my recipes.

I believe cooking is an artform. It is a skill that that gets better with practice and time. The truth is that not everyone has time to practice, so not everyone is or will be a MasterChef, and that is okay. You’ll see that my recipes fall into one of the following categories (and will be marked) so you can know what you are getting into ahead of time.

  1. Scratch recipes: Meals cooked with whole, fresh ingredients. Think chopping, measuring, mixing, and blending.
  2. Simplified recipes: Whole, fresh ingredients with some simplified/time-saving pre-made elements. Like using a seasoning packet instead of 7 different spices, or premade raviolis but the sauce is from scratch.
  3. Blended recipe: Combination of pre-assembled or “boxed components” with fresh ingredients. When the base is already made like muffin mix but you need to add a few fresh ingredients.

In my lactose-free kitchen, we cook all three types of recipes, so I’ll share all three types with you. Because even if you only need to add the butter…it still needs to be lactose-free, am I right?

About Me

I’m Amy. Wife, Mommy, Instructional Designer, and Family-chef. I’m not a formally trained cook but I’m the most in-demand chef in our household (and the neighborhood). In our extended family, we have many lactose-intolerant eaters, so nearly all of my cooking is lactose-free.
